Spring Crafts - St. Pat's Day craft

Field of flowers:
These flowers were made out of contruction paper, pipe cleaners, pony beads for the bud and alot of cutting. I dont have a cricut....so all the cutting was by hand. Every flower has 3 different colors for the petals. I had the cardboard for the actual flower and trace it onto to different colors of construction paper. Then I folded a pipe cleaner in half, attached a pony bead to it and through the hole of all three petals of each flower. When the stem came through the other end, twist it so that you create the leaves.

St. Pat's Day Blooms:  My flowers made out of coffee filters....those are especially special to me. I absolutely love them. Each of them have a different hue and pattern. All I used is coffee filter (3 to each), markers, water to dampen them. The water is the key...once the water seeps through the filter, amazing things happen. At first they came out too pale but with experiment with more color I was happy with the results.

Wear Your Bling:  I made a few rings using pipe cleaners to see how they would come out. For those of you are going to "paint the town" and wear your bling ....these would be easy to do.

No Water Needed:  The last one is a glass decanter that I hand painted with a yellow flower and added more paper flowers inside. I have them on my window sill. I don't have to worry whether if I need to water them or not.

Now that Valentine's Day over....desperately need color...

Well.....I had Christmas and all the beautiful colors that came with it. I knew shortly after I would have Valentines day and make crafts for my place. I had that cute teapot and teacup centerpiece and the hanging heart decoration on my wall. I had a few things in my bedroom for Valentines Day. To take down anything on my walls, that is so colorful....it's a very hard thing for me. Let alone my walls are barron you wouldnt believe it. I never like clutter and my place is soo small, I have a loft apartment. I suppose I can hang things on my walls but nothing caught my eyes to speak of. I dont sew and probably will never pick up that craft...lol. I guess I will bring out my spring centerpiece for my kitchen, that will add some color. I have a picture of the centerpiece and some of the crafts I had done in the past.

Craftycorner's: Valentine Heart Box

Valentine Heart Box

Another craft that came in mind in the last two days.   I had the heart template from previous crafts.  I cut two hearts from cardboard and sponged-painted the cardboard.  I measured the circumference of the heart to cut strips for the the upper and lower part of the box.   I put tacky glue on the lids, both top and the bottom and put the cardboard sides (upper and lower) till they were dry.   I put pink tissue in the box so make it pretty and this craft I will surely keep and put on top of my dresser as a jewelry box.

Heart Gift Purses

These cute gift hearts were so fun to do and I couldn't believe that the idea came so easy to mind.  The heart template came from a valentines candy box that I traced on cardboard.  There were four hearts there were cut out of cardboard.  I painted all four sides with red and pink paint.  My favorite method is sponge painting because it makes it dimension.  I cut strips of cardboard for the sides of the gift purses and made handles as well.  I used hot glue to attach the sides to the purses till they were dry.   I used hot glue to attach the faceted beads on the sides and the handles of the purses.  Then I used regular craft glue to shake the irredescent glitter on the top of the hearts.   I wrapped cellophane around the heart purses and wrapped with red and pink curly ribbon.

PORK CHOPS WITH BLUEBERRY AND CHIPOTLE SAUCE

I also love cooking as you can see, I join springpad site last year.  I just love it because it's like a reminder to me that I need to do something this or that.  As you see many of my dishes are in Springpad and I get such a wonderful feeling when I cook as well.

Denim covered cuffs and bracelets

I had some old jeans that were in one of my closets and I surely didnt need that many pairs of jeans just I thought I could use them in crafts.  It took part of a day to think ideas of what to do with them.  I had plastic that I could use for the bracelets and cuffs, had tacky glue and hot glue to wrap the denim around the cuffs and then embellish them with either buttons, beads or glitter.  I hope you like them.

Craftycorner's: Tissue Paper Heart

Tissue Paper Heart

I made this colorful heart out of cardboard and tissue paper.   I had a template of a heart and used durable cardboard.  Lined three different colors of tissue papers and cut several 5" circles of each color.

On a plate I put Elmers and had a pencil with an eraser.  I wrapped each circle of tissue paper around the pencil and dabbed in the glue and placed on the cardboard heart.   I had a section for each color and made sure the heart was full of tissue.  The fact only the center of the circle is dabbed onto the glue...it makes if fluffs the other part.  I sponged the white tissue paper with pink paint to add dimension.  I attached a red curly ribbon and hung it on a sconce in my bedroom.
